About the Author

Meet Maria!

Maria is a Filipina-Polish American in her early 20s working in the media and entertainment industry. She was born in the Philippines and grew up in Chicagoland (shout-out to the good ol’ Midwest). Stories of all genres have always captivated her heart, and the sentiment only blossomed feverishly during her senior year of college when she worked for The Walt Disney Company as a Disney Branded TV Acquisitions and Partnerships intern. After graduating from Saint Louis University (St. Louis, MO) with her degree in Communication, Film, and Marketing, Maria went on to work for iHeartMedia as a Digital Account and Production Manager (where she currently works, executing national commercials and business deals for clients and brand partners for broadcast radio and podcast network shows).

Maria created Filmscape Reverie as a fun safe space to channel creative expression…and of course to write about the very things that inspire her the most – cinema and film noir, modern literature seeping with technological influence (#BookTok folks, where ya at?) and everyday ponderings as an early 20-something navigating life. She hopes that you’ll stick around and (in the words of her literal thespian certification and heart) “enjoy the show!”
